Jelly Opal Gemstone Earrings with Textured Sterling Settings and Square , Spiral and Squiggle Embellishments
I purchased these beautiful reddish orange jelly opals many years ago from a beloved local lapidary shop here in Wichita that has since closed. I am not certain, but I believe they were mined in Mexico. The settings are made from roll printed sterling to create a unique texture and embellished with silver wire spirals, squares and squiggles. The back of one earring has a textured portion as a result of the roll printing technique. They also have tiny spirals on the back, just because!!!
I made these earrings and the sterling ear wires entirely by hand. They measure approximately 35 mm (1 1/8") from the top of the ear wires. The Sterling settings are 25 mm. in diameter.
